Maun Botswana Water Plant
The Thamalakane River, which forms part of the famous River Delta in Botswana, has been dry for many years until recently. During the drought, the local municipality relied heavily on boreholes to supply them with the minimum amount of water. However, with the river now flowing it was deemed necessary to supplement this supply by taking water directly out of the river.
From Concept to Product : In November 2011, ELW Global were commissioned by the Botswana Water Board to design, manufacture and supply two 10,000 litre per hour water filtration units to react to the worsening crisis. These units were installed within 6 weeks and are now providing an extra 20,000 litres of filtered water per hour to the surrounding villages.
